JamSoft is a small, one-man operation with high hopes. I hope one day to turn this into a freelance software developer company that I can use to escape the wretched normality of everyday working life. We can all dream.

In all seriousness, I do hope that this evolves into a much more important part of my software developing activites, even if the apps are free. I hope to make something that someone will find useful, but until that happens, the software found on this site will usually be demonstrations or simulations used to learn and test out my knowledge of Cocoa.

Brief History

The one-man behind JamSoft is named James. I’m 21 and I’ve almost finished my 3 year BSc (hons) degree in Computing at the University of Wales, Newport and will be applying as soon as possible to do an MSc in Computing and Software Technology at Swansea University.

I began learning Cocoa and Objective-C out of the desire to develop for the OS X platform and upon taking on the XBlaze project. Since then I have been experimenting with the language and frameworks broadening my skills and knowledge.

You can find out more about me, James or “Jasarien”, at my personal site Jasarien.Com.

About The Name

Why JamSoft? A good friend of mine, named Richard, has a penchant for giving people strange nicknames. This was one that I ended up with, amongst JamBob, JimBob, JimJam, Jam, etc. I promised him that if I ever started a software company I’d name it JamSoft. And the rest is, as they say, history.
